In 1991, when Master HunYuan passed by Shih Bi Yan
located in Niou Chou Keng, Houli Shiang, he spotted a stunning
place, which was facing Taichung Harbor from a far distance .
The land is shaped like a Golden Tortoise heading out to
the sea. Thereafter, with strong funding support, San Bo
Temple was starting the process of construction under
the supervision of the disciples from Houli Chapter in 1993. |

The Temple is located at Guang Fu Village, in Houli
Shiang, Taichung County and is about 11,000 square feet in area.
Since it is built along the slope of a mountain, there is
a well-placed line of stone steps guiding the followers up
to Da Hsiung Grand Hall from the main entrance. Once you
enter the Temple, a wishing pond is there to greet you
and welcome you. Following the steps uphill, you'll
see “San Bo Lecture Hall” first, a little bit further,
the "Ksitigarbha Shrine" where Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva
is worshiped, and finally the “Da Hsiung Grand Hall”.
Coincidently, there were some mystical omens manifested
during the construction of the shrines, for instance, at
the time of building “Si Bu Hsiang” in Ksitigarbha
Shrine and “Chi Hsing Chui Di” in Da Hsiung Grand Hall.
